HILDA C. STEVENS
    Hilda C. Stevens is a veteran educator of 34 years in elementary education in Amherst County Public Schools. She has served as a K-4 teacher, content curriculum Lead Teacher, Clinical Faculty Mentor Teacher, Reading Specialist, and currently Reading First Coach.

Mrs. Stevens has conducted professional development training on best practices in the five components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, for administrators and teachers in the Amherst County Public Schools, Lynchburg City Schools, Richmond City and surrounding counties in Virginia. Mrs. Stevens was selected by the USDOE to represent the state of Virginia at the National Reading First Conference in Reno, NA in July, 2006. She partnered with her principal, Darlene Mack, to lead the breakout session, The Three C's to Building and High Achieving School.

Mrs. Stevens is an active member of NEA, VEA, and AEA. She has been an active member of Phi Delta Kappa for over ten years. She is currently serving as Iota Chapter President of Delta Kappa Gamma IOTA Society in Lynchburg, VA.

Mrs. Stevens is an active member of her local church, serves on numerous committees, is the Sunday School Director and Coordinator for the children’s programs. Even in her busy schedule, she fines time to serve on the Piedmont Baptist Associational Executive Council the Vacation Bible School Director.
